One of the most celebrated plays by Friedrich Schiller  —  the renowned, German writer, poet, philosopher, historian and scientist  —  this drama portrays the struggle of the Swiss bowman, William Tell, and his compatriots for independence from the Habsburg Empire during the 14th century.

Originally translated into Scottish Gaelic and published by Katherine Whyte Grant in 1893, it has been entirely revised in this version.
