The Second World War has swept the nation, but in Barra a young women makes the decision to leave the island and follow her friend to the mainland, where she takes on a new identity, and a new life.

Seonag Monk is a radio presenter and has worked at the BBC for many years. But when she is not in the studio, she writes novels. Her gripping, witty prose can be read in Mil san Tì (Acair, 2026), STEALL periodical, and now in her latest book Dealan-dè (Acair, 2026).

Seonag will be in conversation with BBC radio presenter and TV producer Maureen MacLeod, and there will be live music from Gaelic singer Kathleen MacInnes and pianist James Ross.
