Sradagan san Iarmailt – Eden Court

Join us for an hour of Gaelic spoken word and film poetry, with poets from Sradagan san Iarmailt / Sparks in the Firmament – a new, landmark anthology celebrating the contemporary poetry of the first quarter of the twenty-first century. Alongside editor Marcas Mac an Tuairneir will be local Inverness and Dingwall poets, Calum L. MacLeod and Eoghhan Stewart, as well as emergent poet Ceitidh Campbell, who has recently published her first collection, Dàn nam Ban.

The event will combine poetry readings with a film-poem screening, including new filmic works edited by Marcas, using texts from the anthology and voice-over from the poets themselves, and maybe even a song or two. Publishers Francis Boutle Publishers and Leamington Books will also be there for audience members wanting to purchase a copy of the two new volumes.
