Description
The Celtic Congress (Highland), 1998. 114 pages
This collection of sea lore was compiled by the Highland Group of the Celtic Congress, following one of the International Congresses where the theme was “The Celtic World and the Sea”.
Their selection of traditional Gaelic material – history, stories, poems, proverbs, customs and superstitions – is an introduction to the rich store of sea-heritage that is to be found across Scotland and it is hoped that others will be encouraged to find out more about the sea heritage of their own local areas.
All pieces are in the original Gaelic but most are accompanied by English versions.
