George L. Murray was born in 1896 in South Dell in Lewis and Donald Gillies was born in the same village in 1914. George’s sister Anna was Donald’s mother. When the First World War broke out, George was called up to the Seaforth Highlanders. Donald spent the majority of the Second World War with the Arctic Convoys.
This collection brings together the delightful poetry of Rev. George L. Murray and Rev. Donald Gillies for the first time.
