Cearcaill na Gaidhlig or, The Gaelic Rings was launched in 2007 with the aim of promoting the richness of Gaelic language and culture throughout the Hebridean Islands and West Mainland area. This book contains accounts of six personal journeys throughout the Hebridean Islands and the west coast of Scotland by well-known figures from the Gaelic world, including the personal journey of Angus Peter Campbell from Oban to Barra, Eriskay, South Uist, Benbecula, North Uist and Skye.
The Rings take in the islands from Islay in the south to Lewis in the north and the West Highland mainland from Kennacraig to Ullapool. A number of highly respected Scots, with strong Gaelic connections were commissioned to write their personal journey and these six beautifully crafted journeys are now available in The Gaelic Rings book.
