Those are the history of his people and of his own life, Gaelic and the Gaelic heritage of his forefathers, politics and social questions, and a subject that has been of immense importance in his life – health, both physical and spiritual.

Iain D. Urchardan was raised in Borsham, Harris. He graduated with Honours from Glasgow School of Art and from the University of Aberdeen. He is married to Muriel and they have three children: Mairead, Eòin and Sìleas. Between 1997-2010 he was a Parish Minister. Today he is a lecturer at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig and a presenter on podcasts like ‘Beag air Bheag’ and ‘SpeakGaelic’. He has published two books of short stories: Breab, Breab, Breab (2017) and Air an Oir (2020). Turas, his first poetry collection, won The Donald Meek Award in 2019.
