Description
Edited by Alastair MacNeill Scouller.
The poems in this slim volume are part of the heritage of the Hebridean Island of Colonsay and Oransay. They combine the traditional Gaelic contemplation of man's relationship with his natural environment with a sense of merriment which was “characteristic of Donald MacNeill.” Alastair Scouller has provided biographical and explanatory notes as well as literal translations of the poems themselves. Some other Colonsay bards are also represented through their poems, as treasured by Donald MacNeill and his generation.
