Coinneach Dòmhnallach was born in 1891 in Sandwick. As is clear from the poetry in this anthology, he was interested in Gaelic and Highland culture and had very strong links to the ceilidh house tradition.
Famous for his poetry, both in Scotland and abroad, Robert Burns’ works have appeared in many languages, including French and Latin, German and Russian.
