Description
This anthology of Gaelic poetry connected with the Forty-Five is part of a large body of Gaelic political verse composed between the years 1640 and 1750. There are few historical events which have acquired the literary interest that surrounds the last of the Jacobite Risings, and this anthology is an attempt to show the real thoughts and feelings of the Highlanders involved, as revealed in their vernacular poetry. This is a revised edition of John Lorne Campbell's original text, in which there are further notes, additional information, some additional airs and a new Preface.
