Description
The Rev. Ruairidh MacLeod was born in Lochmaddy in North Uist in 1941 and went on to receive an MA and PhD from Edinburgh University in the 1960s and 70s. He was at various times a minister in the Church of Scotland and a member of the Western Isles Council and the Western Isles Health Board, as well as founding the Gaelic magazine Crùisgean. He has also written many books and papers on the history of the church in the Highlands. This is his diary that he kept while attending Divinity College at Harvard in the United States in 1981.
