Alasdair C. MacIlleBhàin at Creative Conversations

The Gaelic Books Council has collaborated with Glasgow University Creative Writing Department to bring you this in person event with Alasdair C. MacIlleBhàin. Alasdair will perform poetry and songs from his latest book maim-slè. Live English interpretation will be provided.


Alasdair C. Whyte was appointed as an LKAS Research Fellow in Celtic Onomastics in October 2019. He was previously a Research Affiliate at the University of Glasgow. His research to date has focussed primarily on the place-names of Mull and Glasgow.

In addition to his academic work, he is a singer, songwriter, playwright, actor and presenter. He was named Gaelic Ambassador of the Year by The Scottish Government in 2019.
